You Give Me Fever

Sore throat, cough, runny nose, stuffy nose, congestion, fever, headache.....you name it, we've got it! Last Monday I had a sore throat but it went away quick and I thought it was over well then Colt got sick. He went to bed feeling/acting fine on Wednesday but woke up a couple of hours later burning up with a fever and he had that bark cough. He has been running a fever off and on since then and he sounds just absolutely horrible! I took him to the pediatrics urgent care on Saturday and waited 2 1/2 hours for a five minute visit with the doctor finding out that he has a viral infection and to just expect the fever to last from 3-5 days and the cough 10-14 days. She told me to put a drop or two of honey in some warm apple juice and that would help better than any medicine I could give him. So I've been giving him the honey juice and then some Tylenol when he has his fever. I hope it works its magic and he is well soon. Prayers!
Now you all know I've taught my son to share so its not surprising that he gave this lovely sore throat and congestion to his Mommy and Daddy! Boo!! We both woke up yesterday morning feeling awful. My throat is killing me and I have so much head congestion - no fever for either of us yet though...fingers crossed!

In other news.......

Happy Non-Anniversary to my awesome Husband!! I Love You!
Non-Anniversary?? This is our 'first dating' anniversary but we don't celebrate it. Okay my husband doesn't celebrate it, but I announce it every year! :) I always tell him 'Happy Non-Anniversary'. We've been together for 8 years today.

I Want A New Marriage - Part 2

I Want A New Marriage - Part 2 from Church on the Move on Vimeo.

Living Social - Kaleidoscope Children's Museum

I love a good deal especially when it allows me to take my son to have a FUN time! Today on Living Social (for the Tulsa area) you can get two full day passes to Kaleidoscope Children's Museum for only $6.00!!! Normally it is $6 per person(including parents) so with this pass you and your child are getting in for the price of one! I'd say that's a great deal. I didn't even know they had this place available! I had been wanting to take Colt to OKC to the science museum but didn't want to drive so far and pay so much money so this is an awesome deal for us! I'm so excited, I know he is going to just absolutely love this place. When my brother was Colts age there was a children's museum that we would take him to and he always had a great time...shoot I was early teens and had a fun time too! I especially loved the pretend grocery store and the bubble maker! :)

3 Year Checkup

Took Colt to his checkup this morning.  I had my mom go with me since I wasn't feeling 100% awesome and I knew I'd need someone to help chase him around. It went really good. He did great with the nurse and the doctor and she said he was doing good and didn't end up needing any shots BUT because he is bruised up(He is a very active jumper! He is constant running and jumping off the couch) she wanted to have his blood checked. :(  We almost got out of there ouchie-free but no she had to ruin it for us. Ha. It went okay though, he screamed and cried and it took three of us to hold him down but it was over fast and he got to pick out a sticker and sucker.
Afterwards we went to lunch and then I took him to walmart so he could pick out a prize. We spent way more than I had intended but he was playing me like a fiddle! Every time I'd say no he would point to his band aid wrap and say he had an owie. How do you say no to that!?! So he left walmart with a motorized train, toy story sunglasses and a toy story book. Spoiled!!!

Motivational Monday

source
I have so many things I'd like to get done this week and knowing me, half of it won't get done. So it was kind of perfect when I came across The Frugal Free Gal earlier,  she has a great post about listing our goals or to-do lists for the week in hopes that we might actually get them completed! Great idea huh!? So here I am letting all of you hold me accountable. :)

  1. Get Colton to his well-checkup in the morning
  2. Possibly make a doctor appointment for myself if my sore throat doesn't disappear overnight!
  3. Make & mail out my 'Pay it Forward' gifts
  4. Go through our junk drawer and cabinet in the kitchen....it is getting ridiculous! The drawer hardly opens now and all the junk is trying to escape into the cabinet below. Yikes!
  5. Properly pack up Coltons baby clothes- hopefully organizing them into sizes.
  6. Try and convince my husband to buy me the laptop I've been eyeing! For some reason the two I already have just aren't enough! Ha :)

What's on your to-do list for the week?

I THINK OF YOU

I hope to one day visit here not because its been a lifelong dream but because you told me I should at least go once to see it, to form my own opinion. You said it would be like nothing I've ever seen before, so much more spectacular than words could ever describe.

I miss you. RIP.

I Want A New Marriage - Part 1

I Want A New Marriage - Part 1 from Church on the Move on Vimeo.

We started a new series at church last weekend. Its going to be fabulous and I decided I'm going to share it with you all each week. I believe it is a 7 week series so be on the look out for more videos. I absolutely loved the opening song after the wedding ceremony. You should check the video out and let me know what you think.

Guess Where We Went. . .

Where a kid can be a kid....and so can the parents! :)

That's right, we went to Chuck E Cheese's! It was Colts first time and the first time I have been in the past ten years. It has changed a lot! My mom called me yesterday morning and said she was taking us to lunch and that it was a surprise for Colt. I was a bit nervous about how the lunch would go because I had called one of my friends up and she gave it a bad review. I'm glad I'm the type of person that likes to take others opinions in consideration but still enjoys making my own because we went and we absolutely LOVED it! The pizza wasn't the best but it was still good and Colton had so much fun. I'm sure it helped that there were only like five other families there so it wasn't crowded or busy. The only thing I was disappointed in was that the main stage that they used to have with all the characters playing in the band has changed. A LOT. Now there is just Chuck E Cheese the mouse in a little booth. Boo! I loved how it was when I was a kid. I know its more open now and they have the smaller games and the toddler section so that's great but I wish they could still have the old stage. We had a lot of fun and it was nice that Colt could pretty much fun free(with me tagging along behind trying to keep up of course) but I didn't have to hold his hand the whole time. I only had to get on to him one time when he stole a little boys ball during one of the games. Ha.
We will definitely be going back again sometime. I'd love to take the husband with us, I know he would just love it. Oh and I didn't know you could just go and play, I thought you had to eat but you don't! So that's nice to know. When we are out shopping we can stop in and let him play for a bit to get some energy out so he has fun too!

Its My Birthday, So I'll Cry If I Want To

Okay so maybe it wasn't my birthday but I sure did want to cry!
Wow!!
I can't believe my baby boy is already three years old. It feels like it wasnt' that long ago that I first laid eyes on him. He is growing up so fast. It's fascinating to me at how quickly they grow and learn. He has been a three year old for a week now and he is already acting older. He is talking in sentences nonstop, he repeats just about every word you say. He is becoming a homebody. He likes to be at home and play. When we are out at the store he says he wants to go home with our dog. He loves going to church and asks daily "church tonight?". He is super sweet, always giving hugs and kisses and saying thank you. He is the best child any parent could ask for.
He is quiet when you first meet him but quickly turns to a chatterbox when he warms up, I have no idea where he gets that! Ha!
He is truly just an awesome child!
Cutest Kid EVER right! :)
So for Colts birthday we just had a small family get together. He invited his Marnee(my mom), Papa, Uncle Garrett, Memaw & Pepaw(but pepaw couldn't make it he had to work). We also invited his Aunt Marisa and her kiddos but they were all sick. We wish they could of made it but we were grateful they didn't share the germs!
Before the party started I had to run to the store to pick up a few last minute items and when I came back home the Birthday Boy was passed out! All of the guests arrived and sat around while he snoozed on the couch. We finally had to wake him up so he was quiet and not fully awake as you can tell in most of these pictures.

Blowing out his candle! Happy Birthday Baby!
It was a nice little celebration. We had fun spending time with our families together and then afterwards Daddy went golfing and we headed to meet our friends for church. It was a fantastic day. Since we didn't have his friends to his party I had them over during the week to do a mini celebration.

Shhh. . . . . . .

Not so loud please! I haven't been writing lately because my head is killing me. After talking with my friend Jessie and my mom,  I've decided it may be tension headaches. I don't care what they are, I just want them to go away!
This isn't going to be a very long update. I just took my migraine(ha!) medicine and I've got the chili in the crock pot ready to be eaten. Jay just got home from work and is keeping Colt occupied for a minute so I just wanted to get on here and post a couple of pictures from this week. Hopefully next week I'll post more and be in better spirits and headache free! Cheers!
My new FREE glasses arrived.
Logan and Colton played at the park
Coltons 1st REAL time playing in the snow! (although it was a weak snowfall)
AND we had TWO Birthday celebrations for our THREE year old!

Hopefully that will hold everyone over until I get a burst of 'feel good' energy to post more!

And Smile I Did

Today was absolutely fabulous! We hung out with our awesome friends Diana and Logan again. It was a laid back lazy day, just went to target, walmart and back home to play. Somebody SUPER Special is having his Third Birthday on Saturday so I was looking around for Thomas the Train gifts. We already got him a couple of things but I was hoping to find a little bit more. We went way overboard on Christmas this year I think so I was trying to keep it a bit simple for his birthday. We aren't going to have a big party just family and then I will take him and a couple of friends to bounce sometime next week. Anyhow so we looked around for a bit and then came back to my house to play. I think the boys had a great time. I promised Logan on Sunday that he could come over and play in Colts room so I hope he enjoyed it. They were a bit rough with each other as boys are but poor Logan got a boo boo right by his eye. :( Praying a black eye doesn't come of it! Yikes. Sorry DY if it does!

While they were here I saw that Coastal Contacts was having a free glasses giveaway AGAIN! How awesome. The only thing though was that they were only giving away 100! Last time it was like 10,000 pairs so I figured 100 would be gone within ten minutes. I jumped on the computer and ordered the first pair I found that I liked! I got the free deal! Yea. Only paid $13.00 in shipping. So then Diana hopped on and she scored a free pair too! What an awesome day!!!

Ever since Sunday I just feel really great about the way things are going. I'm excited to see what 2011 has in store for us! I'm excited to let things go and just live and be happy.

Playing Catch Up

Last week was filled with fun, friends and lots of laughter! Colton and I met up with our friends Diana and Logan for lunch and playtime at McDonald's on Tuesday. We had a really good time. The boys ran around and played while we talked and enjoyed each others company. A lot of times when we get together its hard to really have a conversation because of the boys but it was nice not having to chase after them this time and being able to just talk. I'm so grateful that I've had the chance to really get to know this girl! She is awesome and totally ROCKS my world! :) She is such a wonderful person and great friend, I don't know how I ever survived without her in my life. She is proving to be one of those friends that you know you're going to have in your life forever and you wouldn't ever want to be without their friendship. I hope I can be as good of a friend to her as she is to me!
My bestie came over one morning last week(I can't for the life of me remember when though) and we enjoyed a quick cup of coffee together, well she stole the last of my coffee so I had creamer with a splash of coffee. :) It was nice getting to see her though, we haven't really had time to get together much lately.
On Thursday we went to Bouncy Barn with Diana and Jessie so that Colton could play with his friends Logan and Maia. They had a blast. We only had one rough moment where a kid threw a ball at Coltons face! He was fine, just a little blood blister. Afterwards we met my mom up at Hideaway Pizza for lunch. We always get the paradise pie. It was absolutely delicious!

Maia as cute as can be!

That same day we also got a package in the mail from Aunt Coco. She spoils us! She sent Colt his winter outfit. Every year she sends him a super cute outfit. He also got a Toy Story activity pack that had colors, stickers, and a coloring book. We took it with us when we went to eat and it kept him occupied! :)
Colette also sent me a book to read that she had been telling me about. I'm very excited to read it.
She read it in her bible study group and passed it along for me to borrow. I will let you know what I think about it. She also sent me an awesome coin that I love! I tried to get some pictures but they didn't turn out very well. The coin goes along great with the necklace my sister gave me for Christmas.

'I carried you' its from the Footprints in the Sand poem
For New Years we stayed home. We are such an old married couple. Ha! Colton and I had spent the day grocery shopping and running errands. I got some new shoes AGAIN. I got a pair the week before Christmas I believe and had a 50% off coupon to use from it so we went back by and I found some sketchers that were already on sale so with my coupon I only paid $16 for some tennis shoes. Awesome! We went by Kohl's to exchange some pajamas I had gotten and the line only took about an hour! It was awful. Worse than any Black Friday event I've ever been to! I was a bit annoyed because after we stood in line for forever and were 2 people away from being done I heard someone say how the cashiers could do exchanges just not returns. I was in the return line. Seriously?!? You mean I could of been out of here within ten minutes and instead stood in line for an hour? Yep that's how my luck goes. Owell Colt surprisingly behaved very well. Jay had been out disc golfing all day and so for dinner we just went to iHop and had breakfast. It was good but Colton didn't have a nap that day and he was tired of being gone from the house so he was acting up. We hurried and ate and came home. Jay played his game and I watched a movie. Boring old couple! :) I got my midnight kiss though and that's all that matters!

God is Great!

Service today was great!!!
What do you want most for 2011?
My first thought was a baby of course but almost instantly I thought no it's happiness. Yes I want a baby but more than anything I want to be completely happy and satisfied with what I have. I want to enjoy my life to the fullest and not concentrate on what's missing. Who am I to say that something is missing anyways?
I don't know what the future holds but I know that my life is happening NOW! If I don't take hold of the reigns and live it to the fullest then one day I'm going to wake up in pain realizing that time has passed me by. I don't want that. I want to live every day with real genuine smiles on my face and absolutely no regrets.
It doesn't mean that I'm not going to be TTC still or that I may be sad from time to time but I think it's completely natural to still have that want I just don't want it to become my ONLY want and desire.
My #1 is happiness. I thought that I had to have a second baby in order to be happy because that was my desire, a baby. I've come to realize though that in making my desire #1 in my life I was becoming very unhappy and losing myself.

Today's service just really hit home for me. I had actually been thinking about this for awhile now and I wrote something about a week ago on my phone and had forgotten about it and then today at church the service begins and he is telling a story and in my head I'm thinking 'okay when are we going to get to the message' and then I got it. I realized the story he was telling us about scuba diving really was just about so much more. I immediately just had this 'ah ha' moment of realization for my own life. It gave me goosebumps! God is GREAT!

Here is what I had written on my phone:

Live for the now. You have to live in the present not the future. Hard to put into action and actually do it. Something I've struggled with for a long time now. I get so wrapped up in whats going to happen or what I want to happen that I don't/can't see what is happening in the now. You have to be present in your life in order to live it. Still have hope and still believe and pray about it but don't let it consume you by putting all your focus on it.
