Emmy Rossums Sentimental Journey -Review-

Are you a music lover like myself? Is there one particular genre that you like more than the others? If you are a regular reader than you know that I love praise and worship music the best. Its just what I am drawn to but I really do love all kinds of music and have a wide collection on my iPod. With that said, I was excited to get the opportunity to review Emmy Rossum's album Sentimental Journey. I enjoyed the album, it isn't something I would normally listen to but her voice is absolutely beautiful and soulful. Plus I have to admit I caught myself dancing around my room while I was listening to it this afternoon. ::Blush::

On Sentimental Journey, the multi-talented actress and singer brings her stellar voice to songs popularized by some of the most beloved artists of the last century. It is a collection of classic covers with each song representing a month of the year.

 Rossum is also an acclaimed actress who currently stars in the Showtime series Shameless with William H. Macy. She also stars alongside Emma Thompson and Viola Davis in the upcoming feature film Beautiful Creatures, which hits theaters on February 13th.

Emmy will be performing a track from her new album on Access Hollywood Live on January 25th. She will also be appearing as a guest on Conan on January 28th, Chelsea Lately on January 29th, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on February 6th.

-Review- Young Love by Mat Kearney

Have you heard of Mat Kearney??? I had no clue who he was or what his music was about but I saw that he has been featured on many hit shows that I watch (Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, The Hills, etc), so I wanted to check the album out. AMAZING! I put it in as soon as I received it and I honestly haven't listened to anything else since. I really enjoy the rhythm of the music. I have been listening to the album on my computer, ipod, in the car, in the kitchen when I'm cooking, just all the time. I am constantly catching myself dancing around and singing along. Even my three year old gets up and starts dancing when 'Hey Mama' comes on. I don't know that I have a "favorite favorite" track because every time  I listen I favor a different song. They are all great. I guess if I absolutely had to choose one it'd be 'Sooner or Later', but I would also add 'Ships in the Night' because who can really just pick one song! :)

Yanni Truth of Touch -Review-

Yanni Truth of Touch 

This is Yanni's first instrumental release of original compositions in over eight years. I'd say it was well worth the wait. I have really been enjoying listening to this new CD. Its hard to choose but I think tracks 9 & 12 are my favorite, Guilty Pleasure and Long Way Home. When I hear these beautiful songs I can feel it, the movement, it just runs through you. I think it would be perfectly paired with a dancer, that's what I picture in my head when I hear it.
