You Can't Hide

How in the world are you suppose to not think about something when it's constantly staring you in the face??? It's impossible to hide from it but honestly some days, it's all I want to do.

Overwhelmed

My best friend has cystic fibrosis. Yesterday she was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia and bronchitis. I need prayers. Lots of them. I'm worried and scared and I would do anything to be there to hold her hand and calm her fears. So please pray for her for a fast recovery. Thank you.

Also on the right hand side there is a button for great strides, if you would like to support me in my fight against CF then please donate. Anything helps. It all adds up and together we will win this fight! We will find a cure!!

For information on CF go to www.CFF.org
I'm sorry I'm on my iPod and I can't the link to work.

Blank

I feel bad that I haven't been on here much lately.
I had a blonde moment the other day.....I gave myself a concussion....getting into my car. Yep I bonked my head HARD getting into my car and made myself sick. The hubs made me call my doctor the next day when I wasn't getting any better and they told me to go to the ER. So off we went to waste some money for a ct scan. Everything was fine just have a concussion and will feel like crud for up to two weeks. I'm on day 4 and still feel like crap. I thought I'd wake up and feel great today but no I was actually feeling worse. So today I'm staying home and sleeping all day to rest.
We had a family passing this week. It was somewhat sudden. He had been sick but I thought he was getting better. Wish we would of gone and seen him again but grateful that we spent Christmas with him. He will be missed greatly.
It just hasn't been a good week for us.

I have a couple of reviews that I need to finish up so be on the lookout for them. I hope to have them posted within the next week.

Faith

Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe." ~Gail Devers
I've been struggling with a lot of things here latelly. I don't really want to go into it but I could really use some prayers. Thanks!

**Note** My computer is on its last leg so that's why I haven't been on and posting much latelly. :(

Blizzard 2.0

I wish I could wave my magical wand and end up on some tropical island far far away! I used to wish for it to snow...but not anymore. I can't stand it! I've been stuck in my house for two weeks now. I was SOOO over this snow thing the first day it arrived but it decided to stick around and now its visiting again. Seriously?! I'm DONE!!! I want out of here!! The good thing about it is that I was able to finish my 'pay it forward' gifts, I don't know when I'll ever get to mail them out but they are finished! Yayy!
Jay is home from work today. There is no reason to be out driving in this snowy winter storm unless you just absolutely have to. We will try to get out and play in it after while though. Colt has only been out once for about five minutes since we were all sick last week.
I'm pretty disappointed because we had to reschedule bunco for next week. It was suppose to be this Friday but there is no way everyone would be able to make it even if the some of the snow clears up by then, the neighborhoods are just awful! So we are going to have it next Friday which is for the best anyways but still I could really use a night out of the house! I will be getting out on Saturday though, at least I better. I'm going to hurt someone if I don't get to go. Its the Women's Living Expo, it happens once every year. I look forward to it every year. It is so much fun. Free samples, FIREMEN(okay they aren't free for keeps, but you can look and drool...and get the stank eye from their wives!), wine, etc. Oh I can't wait!! :)

Blizzard 2011

We started last week off with a blizzard!
We've been snowed in pretty much ever since....I can't stand it!

I dream of the sun and its warmth. Green grass and springtime flowers.
I want to wear flip flops and ride my bike.

I'll just have to keep dreaming though because we are expected to get another 5-10 inches of snow today. So far we've gotten over 20 inches. We have only been out of the house a couple of times to the grocery store and everyone was in panic mode. The first time we went I was able to get everything on my list except for milk. The second time we went I found some milk but they were out of everything else...it is rare for you to find milk, bread, eggs, and hamburger meat. The shelves are bare. Its a mad house out there people!!! I'm very excited about today though....shhhh.....my husband went to work today!!! Yay! Ha!!
For the first time in almost two weeks I actually woke up this morning feeling like myself. My throat is a little sore still but I don't feel as congested as I was before. With the hubs gone and me feeling better, I hope to get some good deep cleaning done around here today. I also want to finish up my 'pay it forward' gifts. I worked on some of them yesterday and I like how they are turning out but I still need to think of something else to make to go with it.
Any ideas???

-Review- Love by Calvin Miller

Love: Cultivating Spirit-given Character(a six-week study) by Calvin Miller

I really enjoyed this study guide. I've never really thought about the word Love and how often it is thrown around in today's society. We use the word Love on a daily basis for everything and in this guide it teaches you how God intended Love to be. This book gives you daily reads and personal reflection questions that really make you think. I used the book as a daily devotional and while I really enjoyed it there were some days where I read more than just one days worth as I was left wanting more. It's a great book for a small study group, especially those that have limited time to devote to daily readings.

Love is only one of nine studies in the series on the fruits of the Spirit by Calvin Miller. I look forward to looking into the rest of the series.

I received this book free from BookSneeze.com as part of their book review blogger program in exchange for an honest review whether it be negative or positive. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Foodily

Have you heard of Foodily??

Food, I Love You!!!!

It is one of my new fave websites! It is a recipe site that has where you can search for not only what you are looking for but also what you ARE NOT looking for. I love it! My husband is a very picky eater so its nice to finally have a website that I can search for 'lasagna without onions' or whatever else I'm not wanting it to include. I'm limited on what ingredients I can use so it really helps that I can narrow my search down.
Foodily also has where you can compare recipes side by side to see what the difference is. It tells you how many ingredients are in each recipe and the rating of each one.

Check out Foodily and see if you can find what you're making for dinner tonight.
