Gobble Gobble

I hope every one had a fantastic Thanksgiving! We had a great time going out to my parents house and stuffing our faces. Usually it is still really nice outside and we spend most the time tossing the football around, playing basketball, jumping on the trampoline, or just chasing each other around the backyard, but this year it was a bit too cold to stay outside for long. Poor Colton looked like Rudolph. I tried to get a picture but it came out blurry.

Oh well you get the point. :) We ate too much food and enjoyed each others company and then I was ready to come home to get some rest before my shopping adventure! My bestie and I headed to get our extra shot of espresso coffee and then off to walmart we went. They started at midnight this year which is good because we were able to go to all the other store openings but bad because we didn't get any sleep at all and ended up crashing early. We stood around for forever and then kicked, elbowed and pulled hair to get what we wanted. Ha. It was so much fun! We got out of walmart within the hour and then headed to ToysRus. Yikes! Their lines were wrapped all the way around the store and in between each isle. I found what I was going for but decided $12 savings was not worth the wait in line. So off to Target we went. I was a bit disappointed because I really wanted that $3 sandwich maker thing! :) Owell. I didn't get much there but I did get my sisters presents and something for Colt.
We crashed after that. Cassie was all yippity yappity and then BAM not so much. I could tell she wasn't feeling good(she's been sick for the past week) and standing in line drained my 'shopping high'. So we headed home about 6am and got a few hours of sleep. I woke up really disappointed that I didn't make it to Kohl's to get the Toy Story 4-pack potato head so I called and texted blowing up the besties phone(who had it on vibrate! Punk!) So I was about to give up and go alone when she finally answered as I was stalking...driving by her house. :) So I swooped her up and we went to Big lots, Dollar General, Academy, and Kohl's. I was shocked that they had so many of the potato head packs left! Colton loves his Mr.Potato Heads. He plays with them and the rest of his TS friends all day long. The lines weren't bad and we made it back home within a few hours. I was glad we ventured back out.

Poor Cass is just now recovering though. :(  We've had a lot going on with a close friend though and I know the stress and emotions aren't helping her to get well any quicker. All we can do is be there and continue to pray.
The rest of the weekend was spent mostly at home. Jay cleaned out the garage and I worked in the house. We got Colton a new organizer and a stuffed animal net. We eliminated some of his toys for now and hoping that this will help keep his room picked up a bit more. It has kept from having all of his toys in my living room, so that's nice!

We had a great Thanksgiving and black friday shopping. Now its time to get ready for Christmas!

How many candles????

Yesterday was my birthday so I spent it with my mom and son. It was a great day. We went to lunch and then did a little bit of shopping. It was a nice relaxing day. She spoiled me with presents and made me lemon bars! Yummy. (Shh...don't tell anyone but they are all almost gone!)
Jay had taken me out on Saturday night to celebrate early. We went to Olive Garden and to see Harry Potter.  I'm a nerd and love all of the movies. I have them all but the first three are on VHS so I need to upgrade to DVD soon. Oh and early on Saturday before my Mom came to get Colt we went and had some family fun. We went out to this little airport and watched some planes fly in/out and then we went to the fun house and played some games. Apparently I'm not very pleasant to go to a fun house with because I'm a little competitive and ticket greedy! Oops. Just trying to get my moneys worth!
Today is my besties birthday but she had to work and she is sick so I had to stay away from her germs! I catch every possible virus that comes my way so I try to stay clear if possible. I am hoping to see her tomorrow morning before I head out to my parents for Thanksgiving.
Its been a great week so far and it will only be getting better with tomorrows dinner and late night shopping!
I also have to mention that I have this pretty awesome friend Diana who knew I wasn't feeling well earlier today so she dropped off some delicious homemade cookies in my mailbox for us. There was a turkey and a pumpkin.  Colton really enjoyed them- well the icing more than anything! Ha. Thanks DY! You Rock!

Sorry I haven't been posting very often lately, I don't know why but I'm just in a weird mood and don't want to do anything, I'm trying to snap out of it though.

Presents Presents Presents!

I haven't been in the mood to blog lately. I've been having horrible headaches so I've been a bum! I still don't have anything to write about so what's better than seeing what my birthday presents are going to be!!? :)

I will be getting some new glasses. They are suppose to arrive on my birthday so I hope they do(or come early)! I ordered them online from Coastal Contacts. They have a special going on TODAY ONLY! They are giving away 10,000 free glasses. Yep you heard that right! FREE!!! They did this same special last week and that is when I ordered mine. I got these beautiful glasses that are priced at $128 for free! All I paid was $8.90 for handling/insurance. The shipping was free. That's an awesome deal for prescription glasses. They don't have to verify your prescription or anything. They didn't ask me any information about my doctor, they just asked what the numbers are on my prescription card. I'm so excited to get them!

Guess what else I'm getting? A new camera! A girl can never have to many cameras! I'm getting the Nikon Coolpix S4000. I'm super excited about this one. I've been wanting a small camera that I can just slip into my pocket and its not a hassle to lug around. I love my Canon Rebel but its so big that its not always convenient to take with me. This new camera that should be arriving any day now has some awesome features and will fun to play with. Jay told me I'm not allowed to check the mail or the front door step for the next week. Ha! Yeah right sucker! :)

Those are some pretty nice birthday presents huh?! :) I always know what I'm getting before my birthday, its just how we do it around here.

Next week is going to be busy. Birthday celebrations and Thanksgiving and who could forget Black Friday! Today I'm going to go through all the ads that are already posted online and make my list so I can be at the stores and ready to shop at 3:30am! Although rumor has it that walmart has some sales starting at midnight so I may just end up being up all night!

What a fun present filled week!

The Vintage Pearl

I love this place. I have had several pieces picked out and on my birthday/xmas list for awhile so I was very excited when I saw they were giving away a chunky love & layer of pearls necklace! Thanks to Diana Y. for the reminder! Check out their giveaway here and while you're there take a look around and see what your jewelry box is missing.

All or Nothing

Habakkuk 2:3 - "But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surly take place. It will not be late by a single day."

Sometimes its hard but I'm really just trying to trust in God that every thing will work out. I get upset a lot and forget but I think this verse will help. I'm posting it on my mirror and hopefully seeing it everyday will help me to remember it and believe it wholeheartedly.

Sometimes it just hurts to much and all sense goes out the window. I guess its good to cry it out every once in a while though. Clear my head and release those feelings of sadness and despair.

Some days are good, some are bad but there is always tomorrow with its arms wide open for a fresh beginning.

Halloween

Man its been awhile since I last posted. I've been sick with sinus stuff and headaches this past week. I ended up going to the doctor for the headaches and was told its migraines. So my doctor put me on some medicine to try but I'm not sure I like it very well. It helps with my headache sometimes but not always plus I've been feeling pretty anxious since I've been on it. I don't like feeling that way so I'll talk to her about it next time I go in.

Rewind:
The night before Halloween we took Colton..uh I mean Woody to see his group of friends at our local community trick or treat event. First they had a pumpkin hunt(egg hunt) which was super crowded. There were probably over a hundred little 3-4 year olds and only like 40 eggs. When they said go everyone just took off and it was mostly the parents who were pushing and shoving and surrounding the eggs for their little ones to get some. I just followed behind Colt letting him do his own thing and every time he would get to an egg some parent would come swoop in and block it so their kid could get it. It was annoying but Colt didn't seem to mind. We walked all the way across the field and Colton turned around with a huge smile on his face, he was proud of himself for making it. It cracked me up. We ended up finding a sucker hiding in the grass so he got his prize. Afterwards when Colton and his friend(future girlfriend/wife) were looking at their loot(Ha!) sweet Maia gave Colt one of her eggs. It was adorable. She holds his hand and leads him where to go. Aw to be young and in love!
After the pumpkin hunt we headed to trick or treat and meet up with Woody's sidekick Buzz Lightyear! They were excited to see each other but Woody's girlfriend had other plans on  how he would be spending his evening. She grabbed a hold of her man and wasn't planning on letting go.....until we reached the candy. We had planned to all stay together but the lines were long and Colton had more fun just wandering around Main St  so we just followed his lead. He was very entertaining. He got a couple of pieces of candy and would go up to the people in line and pull out his candy showing how proud he was of that box of dots. Then he would tip his hat at them and off we went. It was adorable, everyone commented on how adorable he was and he even had people coming up to take pictures with him. He wouldn't pose for them though but I don't blame him, I wouldn't want some strange kid in a costume putting his arm around me either! We had a great time.

Afterwards we headed to my parents house so Colton could get some more goodies. We ended up staying for awhile so Colt could play and Jay watched part of the OU game with my dad and brother. We were all exhausted and ready to pass out by the time we got home.
We had a lazy day on Sunday for the most part. I went to church in the morning and then we just laid around all afternoon. It was nice! Colton wasn't feeling to well but we went ahead and took him to see Jays mom. She goes all out for holidays and is a hoot so it was a great time as always! I must admit, I truly hit the jackpot when it comes to mother-in-laws. She is awesome!
We had a great holiday weekend and hope everyone else did too!

Lead me

The Money Saving Queen posted a new devotional today and I know several of my friends will benefit from it. I hope you go to her site and read her devotional page. Her words are inspiring and uplifting. It won't actually let you watch the video from my page so go to her page and watch it there or push play and follow to youtube.

Here is another video/song that I found recently that I would like to share. I hope it touches your heart as it touched mine.
