Bad Luck

I'm trying to remember if I've recently broke a mirror or walked under a ladder. Really I'm just at a loss right now. I am clueless as to what I have done to continuously get the crap end of things. Things just don't work out for me - EVER! It's hard to not get upset about it. I know I'm whining Wah Wah why me and guess what?! I don't care. Nobody ever gets it, gets me.
Shoot half the time I don't even get myself. So how can I expect anyone else to. I just wish I had the answers. I wish I didn't feel so damn alone all the time.
It's all just too much sometimes. I want to get in my car and just drive. Clear my head. Roll down the windows and let the stress blow away with the wind. If only things could be so easy.

Stressed

Sometimes it feels like I'm carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. For the past few days I have been more stressed than normal and I can feel it. My head is absolutely killing me and I'm sore in my neck and shoulders. I'm constantly on the verge of crying. I'm having a hard time keeping everything under control this week.

Two Years....

The two year anniversary...as if its something anyone would want to celebrate. It's been two years since we've been trying to get pregnant, hey lets share a cake. No thanks. A bottle of tequila maybe...if only I drank.
source
I was really hoping I could get through this month without thinking about it. Just let it pass by and ignore it. Stupid facebook. Why is it that the first thing that always seems to be on my news feed is another pregnancy announcement?! It can't be in the middle so I'll skip over it, its always the first thing on top. Seriously? I mean really, I'm happy for you, I promise I am but I don't want to see it, read it, or hear about it. I just don't. I'm just bitter. I hate feeling this way. I feel like I can't talk about it with anyone anymore. What's more to be said? There isn't anything. Some days I'm fine but this entire month just hasn't been working out for me. Maybe next month will be better.

Its storming outside and has been all night so we will have a mini-hunt in the house. I need to get my cookies in the oven and finish up the garnish on the Angel lush. Enjoy your day! :)

-Review- Max on Life

Max on Life
By: Max Lucado

Book Description:

We have questions. Child-like inquiries. And deep, heavy ones.
In more than twenty-five years of writing and ministry, Max Lucado has been the receiving line for thousands of such questions. The questions come in letters, e-mails, even on Dunkin Donuts napkins. In Max on Life he offers thoughtful answers to more than 150 of the most pressing questions on topics ranging from hope to hurt, from home to the hereafter.
Max writes about the role of prayer, the purpose of pain, and the reason for our ultimate hope. He responds to the day-to-day questions—parenting quandaries, financial challenges, difficult relationships—as well as to the profound: Is God really listening?
A special addendum includes Max’s advice on writing and publishing.
Including topical and scriptural indexes and filled with classic Lucado encouragement and insight, Max on Life will quickly become a favorite resource for pastors and ministry leaders as well as new and mature believers.
My Review:  I'm the type of person that has a lot of questions. This book was very informative for me. There is a wide range of questions that Max covers in this great book and he not only answers the questions but also provides scripture to go with it and explains it all very easily. This will be a constant book that I can go back to when I have questions or I don't understand how something works. I look forward to letting my friend borrow it and see what she thinks about it as well.
You can pick your copy of Max on Life up at Thomas Nelson  or Amazon.com
I received this book from BookSneeze.com as part of their book review blogger program in exchange for an honest review whether it be negative or positive. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

What's for Sunday Dinner???

....Hobo Meals....
I'm sure most of you have heard of Hobo Meals before. The first time I had it was the summer before ninth grade I believe. My best friend Colette had come to spend the summer with her sister and was staying with us for part of the time. As a 'Thank You' she cooked this dinner for my family one night. I have made this for Jay numerous times through the years and with a few alterations it has become one of his faves!

Hobo Meals
1 carrot
1 potato
1 hamburger patty
dash of salt

Cut carrot and potato to any size preferred. Place them on some foil and then add the hamburger patty sprinkled with dash of salt. Add a tablespoon of water and fold up ends of foil to make a enclosed packet. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour.

Simple and delicious. Now how do I make it? Well I do all of the above but I also add broccoli (&cauliflower but I didn't have it this time). I sprinkle it with garlic powder and pepper. When its all finished cooking I smoother it in some brown gravy! Jay absolutely loves it. I have a love/like/sometimes hate relationship with it. ha ha. I guess its from him always wanting it and it being the only thing I knew how to cook back when but I haven't made it in awhile so I'm really looking forward to it tonight. Its in the oven as I speak type.

Ear Infection

I had to take Colton to the doctor yesterday. He is 36 inches tall and just barely 30 pounds. I know he lost some weight this past week since he has been sick and not eating too much. He has ear infections. Yep both of them. That is no fun. He has been super whiny and clingy. I love the extra cuddle time but just wish my baby boy would feel better already. It absolutely breaks my heart when he wakes up crying and says 'momma my ear hurt' or 'momma my head hurt'. The other night the only way he would go to sleep was if he was laying face to face with me and he held my hand over his ear. It was the most uncomfortable position ever but it's the only thing that helped him to feel better. His bride-to-be has a big birthday party this Saturday so I hope he is well enough that we can go. They are going to have a bouncy house(with slide) and do an egg hunt. It'll be so much fun! Just got to get this little guy better first.

New Look

Okay now all day I've been working on changing the look around here. I think I'm finally finished. What do you think? New background and banner. New fonts and colors. And we have tabs now! I think I'm really liking it. I hope you do to!

Eeeekkkk.....

I know my layout is all messed up. I'm working on it though so just bare with me for a bit. Thanks!

Stylish Blogger Award

I was awarded the Stylish Blogger Award by the sweet LeAnn from Magical Memories

Here is how it works:
First: Write a post linking back to the person who gave you the award
Second: Share 7 random things about yourself
Third: Award 15 recently-discovered bloggers this award
Oh and don't forget to contact the bloggers and tell them they've won

1. I'm a reality tv junkie
2. I'm horrible when it comes to actually putting the laundry up. I will wash, dry, and fold it but that's usually as far as I get.
3. I'm a horrible cook! I can cook some things that turn out great, but I just don't have that eye for a great recipe or maybe its just that I can't follow directions...either way we have a lot more flops than winners around here.
4. I love the zoo.... I would live there if I could! Ha!
5. Pretty much the only thing I listen to in my car is my Hillsong United CD.
6. I'm clumsy... I gave myself a concussion by hitting my head when getting into my car.
7. Other than being a mom and wife, I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up!

Winners:

I hope you will go check them all out! They aren't all 'recently discovered' but they are some of my favorites and I think you will enjoy them too!

April Bunco 2011

Went to bunco Friday night. Had a blast as usual and I won most wins! Yay! Go Me!!! We had some yummy breakfast foods and a lot of great laughs. We were missing four players and we are down one permanent player so we had 2 subs and 3 ghosts. I'm ready for it to be next month so I can go play and see the girls again!
Yesterday we stayed home and did some spring cleaning all day long! I'm still exhausted. I thought Colt was better and he was but yesterday he started saying his ear hurt and then today he woke up with a snotty nose and sounding congested. I'm debating whether I should take him to the doctor or wait a day. The ear thing worries me though because he has never said his ear hurts before. Oh and he woke me up crying the other night saying his head hurt. He is playing around and acting fine, a little more clingy than normal but I just don't want him to have an ear infection and I not take him. Hmmmm....what to do.

Yanni Truth of Touch -Review-

Yanni Truth of Touch

This is Yanni's first instrumental release of original compositions in over eight years. I'd say it was well worth the wait. I have really been enjoying listening to this new CD. Its hard to choose but I think tracks 9 & 12 are my favorite, Guilty Pleasure and Long Way Home. When I hear these beautiful songs I can feel it, the movement, it just runs through you. I think it would be perfectly paired with a dancer, that's what I picture in my head when I hear it.

Yanni just kicked off his North American tour on 3/22. You can check for available dates near you here. Hurry though, some are already sold out. Yanni Truth Of Touch is available in stores now, so be sure to check it out.

I received a digital copy of Yanni Truth of Touch  by One2One Network in exchange for my honest opinion, whether that be negative or positive. All opinions expressed are my own. No other compensation was provided. By posting this review I will be entered into a drawing for a gift card.

Its Gettin' Hot In Here

My baby boy was up with a fever all night long. Poor baby. He was burning up and didn't want to take any medicine and would just cry. It made me feel so helpless. I didn't know what to do for him. He didn't even want Momma to hold him. He would wake up every so often and whimper which had me on high alert so I'm kind of out of it today. Wait, is that any different from any other day? Ha! I don't think there is enough coffee in the world to get me to wake up today. It's going to be a lazy day of staying in our jammies and watching movies and lots and lots of cuddles. Hopefully he will be well enough that I can leave him home with daddy and sneak off to church tonight.
Hope you all are in good health today!

Oh I added a blog button on the right hand side. Feel free to grab it and post it to your site! :)

-Review- Time with God For Mothers

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. -John 3:16

Wow! What an amazing little book. Time with God for Mothers, a devotional gift book by Jack Countryman is a beautifully written and illustrated book. I really enjoyed how with each scripture there is also either a prayer or an explanation. As a somewhat new Christian this is the perfect book for me. I don't always know what to say when I pray and it was really nice to see some examples of what everything means and to have certain prayers available to me. In the back of the book there is three sections available to help you easily reach what you need: Mothers' Prayers in the Bible, The Responsibilities of Motherhood, and The Promises of Motherhood. There is also a Notes section so you can write down your thoughts and prayers. This is such a wonderful book that is very inspirational for me, I can't wait to get a copy to give to my best friend who is a new Mother. I know she will just love it!

This cute little book is illustrated with beautiful jewelry by Elly Preston of The Purple Door. To view her full line go to: www.mypurpledoor.com

I received this book from BookSneeze.com as part of their book review blogger program in exchange for an honest review whether it be negative or positive. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

My Week In Review

This week was pretty eventful and exhausting. It was a great week until yesterday morning. I got in to a small little tiff with a very close friend. :( It was over something stupid and then just escalated from there. I'm hoping all is resolved now and we can just move on. Love her!  I hate fighting with friends. It makes me sick to my stomach.
Anyways here is some pictures from our week:
We had family day and made a pizza and played Kinect
Ha! Its the only pic I got with his hat on!
We went to the Children's Museum & had lots of fun
Let me outta here!
Mailman
After we went to the museum we stopped by the cemetery to see if the bulbs we planted had bloomed. Some did, some were still coming up.

Also, don't forget the current giveaway ends tomorrow. If you're interested in entering then go and enter here.
