Times Goes Fast

There is this cute little guy that has been in my life for THREE years now. Yesterday he celebrated his third birthday. It's amazing how fast they grow. I'm honored that I have been able to be a part of his life from the beginning. He is Coltons best friend (they are exactly six months apart). I would do anything for this little Super Grover.  Happy Birthday to Gabriel aka Spiderman, Super Grover, & Buzz Lightyear! We love you so much. You always have a second home with us!

Top Ten Tuesday

I'm linking up with Oh Amanda for her Top Ten Tuesday blog hop. My list is random things I need/want to do or accomplish. I'm the worst procrastinator ever....maybe this will help keep me accountable. 

{one} Try out the sewing machine my MIL bought me last week.

{two} Finish up the cross-stitch project I started for a friend over a year ago. Oops.

{three} Hang the pictures that I've had framed for over a month now. 

{four} Photograph and list all baby things I'm ready to let go of on craigslist. 

{five} Pick out five things to throw out or give away. 

{six} Go through Colt's clothes and pack up what doesn't fit him. 

{seven} Plant the two plants I have had on my back porch for months...if they aren't completely dead already. 

{eight} Get a snail mail letter out to the BFF and Bestie --A for sure way they will feel loved!

{nine} Take Colt to the park and for ice cream after... just the two of us!

{ten} Make an effort to spend more time with the hubs and make him feel super loved! I've been on the go so much and he has been working long hours that we haven't spent much quality time together lately. 

4th of July

Happy 4th of July! 

Jay had to work today so we went out to my parents house. My sister and her family were suppose to come too but she wasn't feeling good so they didn't make it. She has been going through some health issues lately so please keep her in your prayers. We missed her and the family greatly! We had a good day, just enjoying each others company and laughter.

How Huge The Night

I've always had a hard time retaining information about history but have found that reading it in story form makes it so much easier for me to understand. Its nice to be able to put a name and face to things and really get to know the characters along with the lesson. 

I feel like this is one of those books that you could read over and over and still learn something new each time. I was able to really throw myself into this book and experience the emotions along side the characters. The more I read the harder it was to put the book down. I enjoyed reading what the grandfather had to say and his teachings on God. I would definitely recommend this book. I didn't feel like it was strictly a young adult book, I've already given my copy to my mom to read and look forward to her thoughts on it. 

Summer Time

Its been so hot out that I don't even argue when my son wants to go outside and play at 6:30 in the morning. We are early birds(usually). I'm glad he got that from me and not his father. Jay is not a morning person AT ALL!!
To beat the heat we've been playing outside earlier and I let Colt play in the water as much as he wants. He is loving the summer life.

He was saying that Barney was his fish he caught!
