Soulmates

Best friends are for life. But a soulmate is eternal. There’s a vast
ocean between the two to many people. But the one thing that binds
all of them together is that they are each a soulmate of the heart to one another and that bond is unbreakable.

To Infinity....And Beyond!

I'm exhausted. Yesterday I went with my mom to run some errands and then we went to Chili's for lunch. I thought I was doing good by getting soup and salad but then I decided to get the baked potato soup. Bad choice. It was good but way too many calories. I thought I was going to be sick. I have been watching what I eat and I think that was the most fattening thing I have eaten in a while. I decided to walk it off so I skipped dinner and headed to the track. I could only go a mile but at least I went. I got back up this morning and met Cassie and we walked two miles. My legs have been killing me. They keep me up at night and then I have to force myself to keep going when we're walking. I'm hoping the pain will go away soon.
Today Colt and I went to JCPennys and looked around. I really need a new pair of capris or jeans but I really don't want to buy any right now. I liked a pair of jeans so I got them but I've already decided to take them back tomorrow. I'd rather just wait and see how things go and only buy them if I absolutely have to. Oh I also got a free shirt!! Life is good, no its great!
I got another little workout in this evening by mowing the front and back yard. I found a nice little surprise on the front porch. A long while back I had ordered the free Buzz Lightyear lunchbox from Sara Lee well they ran out so they said it would be awhile and today we got it in the mail. Colton was so excited and has been playing with it ever since.

He was tired of me taking pics
And just in case you care... my dinner was really really YUMMY!!!!!

Blah Blah Blah

What a week! I've been super busy this past week. I've started walking with my bestie Cassie. We go each morning after she drops her kiddos off at school. It's nice to get out of the house and start each day with her smiling face! Walking first thing in the morning has also helped me to make better food choices throughout the day. Monday after I got home from my walk I had to take Colton out to his Aunt Rissa's so she could watch him while I went and helped my mom cleanup my grandparents house. It was an exhausting day! My back is still hurting. Tuesday I hung out with the bestie and her son Gabriel. Colt and Gabe are besties too! We went grocery shopping and made lunch and then afterwards I threw two lasagnas together - one for a friend and one for my family. I don't think I sat down the entire day! As soon as the lasagna was done I grabbed one and headed for my friend Jessies house. She has a 4 year old, a newborn, a husband who works nights, and 3 ruptured disks. Talk about some back pain. I went over and helped with the baby so she could relax and eat dinner. It was one of those bittersweet moments. I enjoy babies so much but I caught myself getting teary eyed a couple of times and had to push those feelings back for another time. I could hold that baby all day every day. I really enjoyed my visit but wish I could of done more for her.

Maia and Jessie

Thursday evening Colt and  I met up with my friends Diana and Jessie and their kiddos (Logan, Maia, & Jayde) at the park. The kids ran off alot of energy and us girls got to talk and enjoy adult time. Friday morning we met back up with Diana and Logan for the free breakfast at Chick-fil-a. The boys were able to play for awhile and then we went and did some grocery shopping.

I wasn't able to do my walk with Cassie so we decided to meet up Friday night around 8pm. We had a great time. We walked main st and talked. I was surprised at how 'alive' it was. It was also nice to get out of the house without a kid in tow. That doesn't happen very often so it was nice. Saturday Jay went and did his normal golfing so Cassie and I got the kids up early and we headed across town to Chandler Park to try out the new play area. The kids had a great time but it was hot. We stayed for alittle over an hour and then headed back to town. I wasn't feeling very well so Colt and I came home and took naps and then we went and played at the park some more.

Today I did something I haven't done in about ten years....I went to church. Cassie really wanted to go but was having car issues so I called her up this morning and surprised her by saying I would go. I was really nervous but it turned out fine. They are doing a special series right now so I told her I would go again next week. I'll keep an open mind and see how it goes. We had a fun but busy week. My mother-in-law just got back from a cruise and wants us to come over so now we are fixing to head to her house. This week I'm going to be a lazy bum and do absolutely nothing....except my morning walks and maybe some housework.
Sorry I jumped from day to day without saying much I'm just sooooo tired. I could sleep for days!

Things I Like

Just a list of some things that I like/love: (In no particular order)

Apples + Peanut Butter = Happiness
Seriously, apples and peanut butter together, they rock my world!

Coffee--No explanation needed.
Books!!!!!
I love books. You could almost say I have an obsession with them. I love reading but it goes beyond that. I just like them in general. The way the pages feel, the smell they have- both new and old. There is just something about books that is comforting to me. Ever since I was a little girl and watched Beauty and the Beast, I have had a love for books. I dream of one day having a library of my own just like the one at the castle. If I could actually make money and work in a library--oh what a dream! :)

Isn't he just the cutest little owl you ever did see!?
Those who know me know that I love owls! I collect them. They are my good luck charms and my protectors. They have a very special meaning to me and they represent many many things to me in my life. And yes I will be going to see Legend of the Guardians. Anyone want to join me?

My camera. I love taking pictures. I'm not very good at it but I get lucky sometimes.

TREES!
I like me some trees. Taking pictures of trees, sitting under a tree, the shade from a tree, books come from trees. :)  A Kristin Fact: When I die I want my headstone to be in the shape of a tree trunk. There I said it.

 I love listening to music.
Especially when it comes from my husband!

THE END.

Free Chicken

I feel like I've been running errands all day..oh that's right I have! I'm exhausted. I did sleep in until 730 though, that was nice! I was doing my regular morning routine of checking my email and facebook when I saw that the Money Saving Queen had posted that Chick-fil-a was handing out free chicken biscuits to those who dine-in. So we hurried and got cleaned up and headed to get our chicken. I had the best experience ever. We got two free chicken biscuits and then I ordered Colt a small hash brown and OJ. It cost me $2 and some change.  The lady who took my order was so nice, I wish I would of gotten her name. She asked where I wanted to sit and then carried our tray out for us and to top it off she then went and got us ketchup, napkins and a straw! Who does that these days?! It was awesome. I don't know if they do that for every customer or not but it sure made my morning and made me feel extra special!
After breakfast we headed to do our grocery shopping. We didn't get home until 2:30pm! We went to Food Pyramid and Aldi's and then came by the house and put the cold stuff away. (Shhh...we also stopped by Mcd's and got an iced coffee and apple slices--DO NOT tell my husband). After we refueled we were off to Reasors and Walmart to get the last remaining items needed. Finally we arrived back home with a fully stocked kitchen, a few other household necessities, and my wallet being a hundred dollars lighter. If anyone would like to help replenish my wallet, just shoot me an email- all major credit cards accepted! :)

Where'd my memory go?

What a dork! I just saw someones birthday and I thought to myself- oh their birthday is the day before mine.....then i realized my birthday is on the 23rd not the 28th. I haven't been 'all there' for awhile now..I need medication. :) Actually, I'm kindof surprised that I even remembered(eventually) when my birthday is considering that half the time I have to ask people how old I am and even then I usually argue until they prove me wrong. I blame it on the pregnancy...from 2.7 years ago. I skipped past my birthday when I was pregnant so I don't remember it or count it. It works for me until someone asks how old I am.

Logan(3), Colton(2.7), Gabriel(2.2)
Have I ever mentioned how adorable my son is? I still cant get over the fact that he is my son, I look at him daily and think "WOW he is mine"!

We went to the park for an early morning playdate a couple days ago. The above picture is from when we were about to leave, Colton(in the middle) went up and gave his friends a hug good bye. Isnt he just so precious and sweet!? Love him!! BTW: The other boys are sitting on a bench, Colt is standing. He isnt really that short...although he is shorter than both boys. :) Here are some of my other fave pics from our fun day with friends.

That's my boy!

Test Driving a Bike

We had a really fun happy weekend. Jay only worked a half day on Friday so after he got home we went grocery shopping. I dont know why but I love grocery shopping with my husband. Probablly because it takes the pressure off of me on how much we are spending! Ha. I'm trying to learn the ropes of couponing and ad matching. I havent figured it out yet but I'm getting there. I know how to do it for the most part but I havent been collecting coupons so I dont have many to go off and my printer is low on ink so I cant print any. We did pretty good on Friday just by going through the ads and getting what is on sale. We made a list of what we would be interested in and what were good prices and then I made my menu for the week off of that. For the first time ever, I bought in bulk and have a freezer full of meat. I'm somewhat looking forward to grocery shopping this week! :)
On Saturday we did the same as last week. Jay went discgolfing with his friend and my brother so Colt and I headed out to spend the day with my parents. Its so nice and relaxing at their house. I enjoy the time spent with them so much. I had chili cooking in the crockpot at home but mom made roast, carrots and potatoes. How is a girl to resist her mommas home cookin'! I made mom rice krispy treats while she made dinner and then we went and played in the backyard. I only had my phone with me so the pics arent very clear.
Colton went around and collected all the acorns and was sliding them down his little slide into buckets. We also discovered that a little squirrel was using Uncle Garretts disc golf chains as a food cabinet. I have no idea how that came about. :)
On Sunday I had a much needed girls day out. My bestie Cassie and I went to some open houses. It was so much fun. We daydreamed of how we would decorate them and who would have which room. One realtor made it obvious that he thought we were a couple so I went along with it. It was hilarious! Afterwards we went to walmart and ran into our beautiful friend Amy and her husband. We chatted it up and then went to ride bikes...well Cassie rode a bike. We've been eyeing a couple of cruisers that we both really want and hers was just sitting there so I told her to go for a ride. We got some stares and had some great laughs.
Can you see her down there? Thats why shes my bestie! Love her!
Yesterday (Labor day) we stayed home all day. Just sat around and did absolutely nothing. It was a great end to an awesome weekend. To top it off we used a grill for the first time ever! We've been together for 7 1/2 years and have never owned or used a grill. My dad let me borrow his little one and we grilled steaks and had baked potatoes and corn on the cob. I also made brownies and apple crisp for dessert! It was all absolutely delicious! Grilling just opens up a whole other world of food possibilities! I'm so excited! :)

How did you spend your weekend? Hopefully you had as much fun as I did.

A trip to the zoo

My zoo pass ended on the 31st of August so I decided to take Colton one last time until I can get it renewed again. We took our best friends Cassie and Gabriel. I thought it was going to be much cooler than it was. The heat was making the whole experience miserable. We did have fun but we stayed in the buildings and didnt go through the whole zoo. I was disappointed but it was just way too hot.

That evening when I was making dinner Jay took Colt outside to play in the rain for the first time. It never dawned on me that he hadnt played in the rain before. I snapped a couple of pics from the back door and then we all ran inside when it started thundering really loud. I think I was more scared than Colt was! Overall we had a great fantastic day with our awesome friends!
